The Caldwell County Board of Elections is made up of 3 full time staff members, the Director and two Deputy Directors, and 1 part time staff member. The Election Board is made up of 3 members. One representative from each party and an additional member that is of the party of the current governor.
There are currently over 52,000 registered voters in Caldwell County.
The Caldwell County Board of Elections conducts an election at least once a year and at times as many as 3 a year. In even numbered years, our office conducts primaries, 2nd primaries and general elections. In odd numbered years, our office conducts municipal elections for the 8 municipalities located within our county.
The November General Election will be held
Tuesday, November 4
If you need to register to vote or update your voter registration information (i.e. address change, name change, party affiliation change, etc.), the deadline is October 10 at 5 p.m.
You may print the voter registration application found above and mail it to us or bring it by our office.
Voter registration updates (name and address only) may also be completed during One-Stop early voting.
Absentee by Mail: Absentee by mail ballots may be requested until October 28, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. Please use the form below and mail or deliver it to our office, or stop by M-F from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. to fill out the form in person.

Early Voting will be held Thursday, October 23 thru Saturday, November 1 in the City/County Chambers at the Alden Starnes County Building in Lenoir, at the Public Library in Lenoir, and at the Shuford Recreation Center in Granite Falls
**the early voting schedule will be posted after the State Board of Elections meeting on August 21**
