MISSION STATEMENT
The Caldwell County Fire Marshal Office works to preserve and protect life and property from fire, explosion and natural hazards, and to provide assistance to the emergency services, industries and business.
About the Fire Marshal Office
The Fire Marshal's Office continues to be the leading county agency in fire investigations, helping to determine the cause and origin. The office also investigates all fires where there is serious injury or death.
The Fire Marshal's Office provides assistance to the various county fire departments in helping to reduce their I.S.O. ratings; preparation of fire department budgets; consulting with fire departments concerning equipment and training needs; assisting in filing grant applications and fund reimbursement requests, equipment and supply purchases. This office also assists in keeping departments informed on issues dealing with the fire service. prepares and submits BCI files to the proper authorities, and serves as liaison for the departments with county government.

Inspections
The following is designed to provide Caldwell County business, industries, churches and the public with basic information about the Fire Prevention Code.
The Caldwell County Fire Marshal's Office is a division of the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Services. Fire Marshal staff are certified firefighters, fire inspectors and Certified Fire Investigators.
Fire Marshal's Office Primary Duties:
- Fire Prevention and Education
- Fire Code Enforcement
- Fire Origin and Cause Investigation
- Coordination of contract fire protection with volunteer fire departments
Staff conducts inspections in all areas of Caldwell County, with the exception of the City of Lenoir.
The Caldwell County Fire Marshal's Office will respond to any complaint made to our office. Otherwise, inspections of occupancies will be provided on the following schedule:
- Once every 6 months: Schools (Public, Private)
- Once every year: Hazardous, Institutional, High Rise, Assembly
- Once every two years. Educational
- Once every three years. Business, Mercantile, Storage and Churches/Synagogues.
Frequency rates for inspection of occupancies as mandated by the NC General Statues shall supersede this schedule.

Safe Kids Coalition
Mission Statement
Caldwell County Safe Kids Coalition is to reduce the number of children hurt and killed due to unintentional and preventable injuries. The coalition focuses on Child Passenger Safety (bicycle and pedestrian), fires/burns, drowning, choking/suffocation, poisonings, gun safety and falls.
The Coalition is made up of several local agencies and businesses including:
