WIC/Nutrition Services
The WIC/Nutrition services provides services for over 2,000 eligible women, infants and children (WIC) in Caldwell County. WIC, also called the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program is designed to provide food and nutrition education to low income pregnant and postpartum breastfeeding women and infants/children until age 5.
Other services include:
¨ breastfeeding peer counselor program
¨ a board certified Lactation Consultant and two breastfeeding educators on staff
¨ medical nutrition therapy
¨ private consultations
¨ public health nutritionist available for health fairs and nutrition classes

- Are you breastfeeding?
- Do you have a child less than 5 years old?
If you answered YES to any of the above, you may qualify for WIC. WIC provides nutritional education, breastfeeding support, and coupons (vouchers) for healthy food. Learn how to feed your family so your children will grow up healthy. Get referrals to other health and community resources.
