Purpose

To monitor rest homes, family care homes and the adult day care facility for compliance with the minimum standards and provide assistance to the facilities when violations of licensure rules exist; also, to investigate complaints made against the facilities.

Eligibility

Each facility is licensed through the state of North Carolina as a home for the aged (adult care homes, rest homes, domiciliary homes and assisted living facilities).

Special Information

Nursing home complaints and surveys are handled at the state level, not locally.
