Purpose

To provide a day service for the aging or disabled adults by assisting these individuals in remaining as independent and self-sufficient as possible, increasing feelings of self-esteem and dignity while enabling them to continue to live in their own homes.

Eligibility

Adults who are: (1) mobile, either independently or using a cane, crutches, walker and/or wheelchair; (2) able to maintain toilet functioning independently; (3) able to benefit from group experiences; (4) able to feed themselves; and (5) able to follow simple instructions.

Special Information

There is one adult day care center in Caldwell County, which is monitored by a member of our DSS staff.

This service provides relief for family members from the constant caring and provider roles.

State Social Services Block Grant and the Home and Community Care Block Grant help to fund this program for participants.
