Purpose

To give families a one-time cash payment to help pay their heating bills.

Eligibility

Household must meet an income test, must be responsible for its heating bills, cannot have assets over a specified limit, and must include a US citizen or an eligible alien.

Application Procedure

Apply November 7 - 18, 2005 (except weekends and Veterans Day, Nov. 11) at the local Department of Social Services using your October wage stubs.

You will need information concerning banking and checking accounts, household property, stocks, bonds, and other assets as well as the name, date of birth, and social security number of all household members.

Special Information

Checks are mailed in February to eligible households.
