Baptist Children's Homes of NC
Purpose
The purpose of all Baptist Children's Homes programs is to help hurting children and heal broken families. In Caldwell County, the Noel Home program is a 6-month program to assist families in making a permanent plan for themselves. The Care House program is for teenage mothers and babies. The purpose of this program is to enable a teenage parent to continue her education, to gain work experience in some cases, and to receive daily instruction in good parenting skills.
Eligibility
For all Baptist Children's Homes services, children and legal custodians who are residents of North Carolina, and who need assistance with their relationships are eligible for services. For the services at Noel Home, only Caldwell County residents are eligible.
Financial Guidelines
The network of Baptist Children's Homes services has a Sliding Fee Scale for families. In the event that a child is in the custody of a Department of Social Services, state board rate payments would be utilized for room, board, and other services for the family. For Noel Home and Care House, Caldwell County Department of Social Services does pay half the costs of all services at both facilities, while Baptist Children's Homes of NC, Inc. pays the other half.
Special Information
At Care House and Noel Home, residents must either be in custody or placement responsibility of their Department of Social Services. All other Baptist Children's Homes services do not require this. Private family placements are welcome.
Application & Referral
All applications and referrals may be made to Donna Lail or Jennifer Winkler at the local Baptist Children's Homes offices; telephone number (828) 757-0700. An appointment will be scheduled if services are appropriate to meet the family's needs.
