Chief Brown has been involved in emergency services for the last ( ) years, and has experience as both a volunteer and career firefighter and officer. With Caldwell County Emergency Services since 2004, Kevin has also served in a career capacity with the City of Lenoir Fire Department and as a volunteer firefighter with Hudson Volunteer Fire Department in Hudson, NC.
Chief Brown holds multiple advanced certifications in fire suppression and investigation, rescue, leadership and education and prevention, an executive level emergency management certification, as well as holding a Basic Law Enforcement certification through the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office. Kevin also graduated from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in 2013 with an Associate in Applied Science of Emergency Preparedness Technology.
Lt. Lakey is a career officer with Caldwell County Emergency Services, following 4 years with the City of Lenoir Fire Department and proudly serving at the rank of Lance Corporal in the United States Marines. Lt. Lakey currently holds the rank of Captain with Sawmills Volunteer Fire Department in Granite Falls, NC and holds multiple certifications in both the fire and rescue realms of emergency services.
A graduate of South Caldwell High School in 2006, Lt. Lakey is continuing his education in emergency services and is a true student of his trade, routinely traveling to conferences, training opportunities and expos throughout the East Coast to better himself and his colleagues. A dedicated member of his community and the fire service, Lt. Lakey plans to maintain a career in the fire service.
Lt. Smith has been a firefighter since ( ). He has been with Caldwell County Emergency Services since ( ), and in his current position since ( ). Smith also served in a career capacity with the City of Hickory and Blowing Rock Fire Departments, as well as volunteering at Gamewell Fire Rescue where he holds the rank of Captain, and is the training officer for the department. He brings over ( ) years of experience and knowledge as both a career and volunteer fire officer and has dedicated his time to mastering his craft and passing on his knowledge and experience to others. Lt. Smith also holds the distinction as being a charter member of Caldwell County Emergency Service's Tactical Paramedic Team, and holds certifications in the areas of fire, EMS, rescue, emergency management and law enforcement.
