Randy Church, Chairman of the Caldwell County Commissioners signed a Declaration of a State of Emergency for Caldwell County Monday evening.
Two representatives from the National Weather Service are headed to Caldwell County to begin accessment of the damage in the area and the weather event.
All of the roads that were closed in the evening hours are still closed to through traffic due to potential hazards of downed trees and power lines.
Two Task Force Teams are beginning evaluation of damaged homes in both the village of Cedar Rock and the Hudson area. Each team will consist of representatives of the Caldwell County Health Department, Building Inspections, Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Medical Services. Team members also include the American Red Cross and United Methodist Disaster Relief Team.
