Caldwell County Emergency Services is asking citizens to prepare for possible flooding due to heavy rain that is expected to fall beginning today and lasting through the weekend.
Emergency personal in Caldwell County including fire, rescue, law enforcement and EMS met this morning for a briefing on the current forecast and to make preliminary plans to handle potential emergency situations as they arise over the course of this storm. The Caldwell County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will be activated as conditions warrant.
Citizens are asked to please be prepared for heavy rain resulting in flooding, power outages, trees down, etc. Everyone should have a plan as to what they will do in an emergency and have on hand water, imperishable food and prescription medicines for each person in their household to last several days.
