ICE Unit Arrests Drug Traffickers

May 17, 2018

Sheriff Alan C. Jones has announced on May 16, 2018, Narcotic Agents with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office assisted Probation/Parole Officers in a search of a residence located at 5005 Cross Street in Granite Falls.  The tenants, Lonnie Dale Love, age 45 and Lisa Bryant McGalliard, age 54, have been under investigation the past month for suspicion of trafficking in methamphetamine.  Ice Agents had conducted an undercover operation and made a purchase of methamphetamine from them at the residence earlier in the month.  Love is also a wanted fugitive from Virginia for a probation/parole violation stemming from a robbery conviction, and a felony probation violation from NC.

Officers searched the residence and located approximately 65 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, digital scales, and other assorted drug paraphernalia items.  As a result, both McGalliard and Love were arrested and charged with felonious Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Maintain a Dwelling to Keep/Store Controlled Substance.  The total methamphetamine seized during the investigation has a street value of $9,810 according to North Carolina State Drug Guidelines.

Love received a $200,000 secured bond for the Fugitive charge and a $50,000 secured bond on the drug charges.  McGalliard received a $50,000 secured bond for her drug charges.  Both have a first appearance in District Court in Lenoir on May 17, 2018.
