Caldwell County confirms seven additional COVID-19 cases. Four of the cases are in the 28630 Zip code, two in the 28645, and one in the 28638.

NC Department of Health and Human Services has released new guidance on when employees with confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 can return to work. The guidance now says at least 10 days since symptoms first appeared and at least 3 days (72 hours) since recovery, defined as resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath). Previous guidance had instructed patients not to return to work until at least seven days since symptoms first appeared.

According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, testing is most important for people who are seriously ill, in the hospital, people in high-risk settings like nursing homes or long-term care facilities, and healthcare workers and other first responders who are caring for those with COVID-19. However, health care providers are able to order COVID-19 testing for individuals as they see fit.

Several organizations have supported Caldwell County Health Department and first responders since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The most recent donations come from Arbor Dale Church, Caldwell UNC Health Care, Cintas, Heico, Lowes, and Nutex. Caldwell County Emergency Services and Health Department wish to thank all of these organizations.
