Caldwell County recently selected Kimberly Young to serve as Public Library Director.
Young comes to Caldwell County from Michigan where she served as Library Director for the Houghton Lake Public Library in Houghton Lake, MI. She brings 18 years of experience in the library field and has also done consulting work with focus areas on strategic planning and data-driven decision making.
“I look forward to joining the team at Caldwell County Public Library,” Young said. “I bring with me a passion for library work that supports and develops meaningful services/partnerships/programs which engage community members and community efforts, as well as a firm commitment to quality customer service.”
Young received her undergraduate degree from Adrian College in Adrian MI and her Master of Library and Information Science from Wayne State College in Detroit, MI.
The last couple of years Young has spent traveling and checking things off of her bucket list. During that time, she has done a lot of hiking, including the Annapurna Range in Nepal, the Druk Path in Bhutan, and the Camino de Santiago Costal Route from Porto, Portugal to Santiago, Spain.
A native of Sand Creek, MI, Young has one adult child that is currently studying culinary arts in Colorado.
