Thirteen employees of Caldwell County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) recently received promotions within the department. The employees are as follows:
Promotion to Captain: Captain Joshua Welker
Promotion to Lieutenant: Lt. Jason Rosenberger and Lt. Joshua Potter
Promotion to Sergeant: Sgt. Tara Swanson and Sgt. Jonathan Cook
Promotion to Sergeant over the newly formed Convalescent Division: Sgt. Albert Musto
Promotion to Field Training Officer: FTO Cory Blancet, FTO Jennifer Starnes and FTO Jordan Taylor
Promotion to Preceptor: Benji Ellis, Olivia Ford, Kenny Sauberan and Bobby Taylor
Candidates applying for a promotion within the EMS department complete an “Assessment Center” which is comprised of a written examination, panel interview, tabletop scenarios, peer review, and a performance evaluation.
The promotions are the result of an upcoming change for EMS employees to a “24-hours on/72-hours off” schedule which begins on August 1. The change in schedule is also requiring the adding of an additional shift and Caldwell County is currently taking applications for 14 new paramedic positions.
