Early Voting Turnout Outpaces 2018

May 6, 2022

Early Voting for the Midterm Primary Election already exceeds the total number of votes cast during the entire Early Voting period in the 2018 Midterm Primary.

With more than a week remaining in Early Voting, over 1,750 Caldwell County voters have cast their ballots. As a comparison, during the entire 2018 Primary Early Voting period, a total of 1,609 votes were cast.

“We encourage people to get out and vote,” said Chad Barnes, Caldwell County Board of Elections Director. “And remember, if you are not registered to vote, you can register and vote the same day during the Early Voting.”

Early Voting continues now through May 14 at the Caldwell County Library and Shuford Recreation Center. Polls are open weekdays from 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays, May 7 and 14 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. On Election Day, May 17, polls will be open from 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

Sample ballots are available at the Caldwell County Board of Elections, 120 Hospital Avenue in Lenoir, or by visiting vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/.
