Due to the health concerns associated with the coronavirus (COVID-19) and efforts to limit the possible transmission, Caldwell County Government has made the decision to limit access to many of its buildings. County business can be conducted via telephone, email, fax, or other virtual means to the greatest extent possible. Caldwell County will operate under normal business hours for critical county business only that cannot be done online or over the phone by appointment only.

Caldwell County Public Library now offers limited curbside service at all three locations, so you can get a library card and/or access to any of our books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and other materials. Curbside service is available, Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm.

To access the desired service or program, call the general DSS general number (828) 426-8200 or visit www.caldwellcountync.org/social-services. Clients can apply for FNS and Medicaid online with NC ePASS at epass.nc.gov/CitizenPortal/application.do.
Open for gun applications and fingerprinting and renewals must be completed online. Visitor access to the jail has been limited to lawyers/legal representatives only.
