Thank you for visiting the Caldwell County Board of Elections webpage.  We hope you find the information you are looking for on our page, but if you have difficulties or questions please feel free to contact us.  Director Chad Barnes and his staff will be glad to assist you.  Our office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

If you are new to Caldwell County or wish to update your existing voter registration (change of name,  address, party etc.), download a blank voter registration form.  Print and complete the form, then either drop it by our office or mail it to us at PO Box 564, Lenoir, NC 28645.  We are located in the lower level of the Caldwell County Library (120 Hospital Avenue) in Lenoir. You should receive a new/updated voter registration card within 10 business days.

To check your voter registration status, polling place, or to see your sample ballot, click here.  To request an absentee ballot by mail, print and fill out the State Absentee Request form found on our documents page.  Mail your completed, signed request to our office at P.O. Box 564, Lenoir, NC 28645 or hand deliver it to us.  Absentee requests must be received by our office no later than one week prior to the date of the election.

Please note: NC voters WILL NOT be required to show a photo ID to participate in the November 3, 2020 General Election. A federal district court order blocked the state’s voter photo ID requirement from taking effect. The injunction will remain in place until further order of the court. For more information, watch this NC Board of Elections’ video.
