Absentee Voting

To request an absentee ballot by mail, visit the North Carolina Absentee Ballot Request Portal and follow the instructions. The portal provides a secure way to request an absentee by mail ballot which will be mailed to you.

Mail your completed, signed request to our office at P.O. Box 564, Lenoir, NC 28645 or hand deliver it to our office (120 Hospital Ave., Lenoir).  Absentee requests must be received by October 27 at 5 p.m.

Voted ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections no later than 5 p.m. on Election Day (November 3).

Check your voter record at the State Board’s Voter Search Tool to find out whether your ballot was accepted by your county board of elections. This information will appear in the voter record after a ballot has been accepted.

Sign up for BallotTrax, when it launches in the next few days, to track your ballot through the system. BallotTrax is a new service that will allow voters to track their ballot through the mail and confirm receipt by the county board of elections, much like they can track their online order or pizza delivery.  When it launches, a link will be available at NCSBE.gov.

For complete instructions on absentee voting, visit www.ncsbe.gov/voting/vote-mail.

As a reminder, voter intimidation is prohibited by law. Click here to get more information.

If you have any questions, please call our office at 828-757-1326. Our office is open 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday – Friday.
