Household Hazardous Waste

FREE RESIDENTIAL HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE ONE-DAY COLLECTION EVENT
Saturday, May 21
9 a.m.-1 p.m.
STAT, Inc.  
2550 Hickory Blvd. Lenoir, NC 28645

Dispose of household hazardous waste, pesticides, and unwanted medications and prescription drugs,
and bring items that need to be shredded, all at no cost to you.

Below is a partial list of items that will be accepted:

Hazardous Waste Items Accepted

  • Household Cleaners
  • Paint Products
  • Automotive Products
  • Pesticides
  • Fertilizers
  • Kerosene
  • Batteries
  • Pool Chemicals
  • Mercury Thermometers
  • Fluorescent Tubes

Shred Items That Include:

  • Account numbers
  • Birthdates
  • Passwords or PINs
  • Signatures
  • Social Security numbers
  • Addresses, email addresses or phone numbers

The County contracts with certified companies to ensure proper handling and security of waste collected. Electronics and business waste will not be accepted. Electronics can be disposed of at any County Convenience Site.  No trailers allowed. Be prepared to wait due to anticipated high volumes.
